Text of the letter:
Dear Billy,
Merry Christmas! I’m so excited to drop off a new bicycle at your house this year. I couldn’t fit it down the chimney, so the reindeer waited patiently while I brought it inside.
There are several extra items that can come along with a bike, such as a bell, a horn, and a cool basket or bag. But I’m sure you know what’s most important to bring along on your ride. That’s right: a helmet!
It is so very important to wear a helmet each and every time you ride. Grownups at your house or a bike shop will make sure that you have a helmet that fits correctly as your head grows. They will also show you how to adjust the straps and fasten them securely.
Have fun on your new bike! I hope you will write back and let me know about your first ride. Even though I usually drive my sleigh, I have a bicycle of my own, and I always wear my special red-and-white helmet.
Love,
Santa
