Text of the letter:
Dear Susie,
I don’t usually do this, because puppies are hard to deliver via sleigh, and a lot of the times kids promise to help care for a dog but then forget or get bored. However, your parents have assured me that you have been very responsible and that you are ready for a big change like getting a dog.
So Merry Christmas! This little pupper is all yours. Feel free to give it a name and lots and lots of hugs and cuddles. Make sure you pet gently and never pull its tail or be too rough with it. A dog can be a wonderful companion for many years when you treat it right!
A puppy is a living creature, so make sure you treat this one like part of your family. That means doing a good job giving it water and food every day, taking it for walks, taking it out to go potty, and giving it lots of love and snuggles. I’ll be checking in from time to time—kids who treat their dogs well go on my “Nice” list for next year.
Have a wonderful time with your new buddy!
Love,
Santa
